HANM slams MPCC for staging outside RBI office

SHILLONG, Jan 19: The Hynniewtrep Achik tiol Movement (HANM) East Jaintia Hills District today condemned the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) for staging a protest outside the RBI office Shillong.

“This whole protest of the congress outside the RBI office is ucceptable as it has no real benefit for the general public, however it’s just a political gimmick to showcase to the public that they are concern over the demonetization of Rs. 1000 and 500 notes as it has affected the people of the state,” Ency president HANM- East Jaintia Hills district said.

The Movement observed that if the MPCC is concerned about the welfare of the people of the state, then they should instead gherao the main secretariat building on the issue concerning the long pending border dispute between Meghalaya and Assam.
