Happy to be chosen for Ganesh Gogoi award: Mohim Bora

GAON, March 26: "The great poet Ganesh Gogoi was my favourite poet during the first phase of my youth. During that period of time, his evergreen poems unbelievably touched my heart. I searched and collected his poems and even tried to memorize all those poems," said veteran storyteller Mohim Bora while reacting to the news that the State Government had chosen him for the Ganesh Gogoi Award for 2014. Expressing satisfaction, the veteran litterateur said that he was very happy that his me would be associated with that of one of the best poets in Assamese literature. The award will be conferred to Bora on March 28 at a function to be held at the Khagen Mahanta Auditorium in gaon district. The award will comprise Rs 1 lakh in cash and other gifts. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, State Agriculture Minister Rokibul Hussain and State Cultural Minister Bismita Gogoi will grace the function.
