Harangajao, an important constituency of NCHAC could not get the taste of development since long though there had been many important persolities like MP (RS), MLA CEM and also EM of NCHAC from Harangajao but remained backward in terms of overall development. Harangajao virtually failed to attract the authority concerned even after repeated pleas by the people due to the alleged indifferent attitude of the leaders or the authority concerned.

Not only to speak about the development, the income generating avenues for the youths were lacking except daily wages, thereby deteriorating the socio-economic condition of the people significantly.

Detailing the present activities for only five months, Harangajao got a big face-lift in terms of roads, water supply, irrigation, water resources, and veteriry. Bathari further said that though EM Hojai is the in-charge of veteriry department, but with active coordition with other executive members, he had initiated various developmental activities in other departments like PHE, Soil, Town and Country Planning.

EM Hojai, when contacted said, “Harangajao was suffering from multifarious problems, be it communication, water supply, health, or avenues for the youths. In fact Haragajao did not get much attention earlier though it is an important place in Dima Hasao. With my limited capacity and time I tried my best to discharge my duties and responsibilities for the place and also for the people who always support me a lot, and above all the active cooperation from our CEM, Debolala Gorlosa, all the  EMs and of course the people of Harangajao in particular and of Dima Hasao in general.”

About his future dream he said he wanted Hargajao to be a beautiful town in the district in all aspects since it was located in the border area of Cachar district.
