BAIHATA CHARIALI, March 25: Following an attempt of suicide by a student of Pub-Kamrup College due to alleged mental harassment by senior hostel inmates, tension prevails in the area. According to reports, a female student of TDC 2nd semester of the college, on Friday attempted to jump from the hostel building due to alleged continuous mental torture by one of her senior hostel inmates who is a student of TDC fil year. But fortutely other students in the hostel saved the student and she was admitted at raya Hospital. The girl alleged that she had been mentally harassed by her senior inmate for a long time and though she informed the hostel superintendent about it, she did not get a satisfactory response from the hostel superintendent due to which she took the extreme step. In this connection, the girl lodged an FIR against the senior student at Baihata Chariali police station and police have registered a case and investigation is on.
