Hardcore drugs mafia arrested by Assam Police in Nagaon

NAGAON: Nagaon town police, led by newly-appointed town Sub Inspector Biraj Mohan Deka, launched a massive manhunt against illegal drugs trade in Nagaon town. As part of that massive manhunt, Nagaon town apprehended a hardcore drugs mafia from Fancy Road in the Nagaon Borbazaar area on Friday night and also seized six cartons of cough syrup which were being loaded in a tempo.

According to sources, the drugs mafia has been identified as Mir Hussain of Nagaon town Morongiyal. Police later seized a tempo carrier from his possession. In connection with this, Nagaon town police registered a case and further investigation is on, sources added. In an interaction with some local mediapersons, TSI Deka said that it was a warning to drug peddlers and drug mafias of the district.
