Harshita, Shakshi cause upset in Jorhat Open

GUWAHATI, Dec 29: 3rd seed Harshita Bora of Dibrugarh upset top seed Justi Buragohain of Guwahati 6-2, 7-5 in the girls U-14 semi fils of the Jorhat Open Tennis tourment held at Jorhat today. She will face 5th Seed Shakshi Baruah of Jorhat in the fil. Shakshi also upset 4th seed Nistharani Borphukan of Dibrugarh 7-6(3),3-6, 6-0 in the other semi fils. All other seeds moved ahead to confirm their spots in the fils to be played tomorrow.

Girls Under 18 Year Singles Semi Fils: Debanga Barkataki (Jrt)  bt.  Nistharani Borphukan (Dib)  7-6 (2), 6-3, Harshita Borah (Dib)  bt. Justi Borgohain  (Ghy)  6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
