Harya to give land to Sai for badminton academy

Chandigarh, Dec 11: Ace women badminton player Sai Nehwal will be provided land by the Harya government to set up a badminton academy in the State. The land to the intertiol star will be provided by the Harya State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) at Manesar in Gurugram district, 45 km from New Delhi. HSIIDC Maging Director Sudhir Rajpal said that the land will be provided to Nehwal to further promote sports in the State. Rajpal, who was attending the Pravasi Harya Divas roadshow in Hyderabad on Sunday, made the announcement following a proposal made by Nehwal's father, Harbir Singh, for setting up a badminton academy in Harya.

Though Sai hails from Hyderabad and lives there, her family origilly belongs to Harya. IANS
