He informed that not a single hawker has been left out in getting accommodation to operate their business at the newly constructed market.

The Congress MLA urged the shopkeepers to always keep their surrounding clean.

“This was once a dumping ground and later it was converted into market in which shopkeepers came from different localities like Mawlai, Pynthorbah, Golflinks and other places,” he said.

He further said the community will never forget the dedication put in by the youths of the locality to continuously clean the market every single day in the past 15-20 years.

“I was also once a head sweeper in this locality and my responsibility was to keep the market clean,” he said.

He informed that earlier through an MLA and MDC scheme a market was constructed at the present site, however due to poor planning many shopkeepers revered and started conducting their business in the streets once again.
