Itagar, Dec 16: Gandhian An Hazare has advocated for immediate constitution of Lokpal and Lokayukta in Aruchal Pradesh to put an end to the prevailing rampant corruption in all spheres.

Addressing a public gathering here which was christened as An’s satyagraha here on Saturady, the anti-corruption crusader said that after covering all States his tour will culmite in New Delhi on March 23 with a mass dhar.

His tour to various States is apolitical, but to interact with the masses to know the status of development and their grievances, he said. “The pothole ridden State capital road with many of its stretches that were damaged by landslides as well as the ked electric poles standing tall all along reflects the level of development taking place in the State,” the 80-year-old social activist said.

“These are minor problems in every State which the respective government could solve but ignorance is the hallmark of present day governce,” he said, adding that he had spent eight years to facilitate ectment of eight laws in the country of which Right to Information (RTI) Act has only been implemented.

“There cannot be development without participation of the people,” he reasoned.

Hazare said after Lokpal and Lokayukta Bills were passed by the Parliament, a few of its sections were changed during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s period followed by changes during the present BJP regime but it is yet to be implemented, including in Aruchal Pradesh. “Democracy is powerful if the political parties rise above blame game to serve with sincerity, commitment and dedication with transparency and accountability,” he said.

Organizing committee chairman Serpi Flago and Secretary Bai Gyadi, while highlighting various corrupt practices, said that there is lack of security due to which flow of tourist to the State is declining despite having vast scope in the tourism sector.
