SHILLONG, June 30: The Meghalaya High Court on Friday directed North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) to continue to pay the Hill Area Special Allowance (HASA) to the teaching and non-teaching staff of the university till the next date fixed.
In the meantime, the High Court also stayed the resolution of the Executive Council of NEHU June 14, 2017 and consequential notification on the same day.
The North Eastern Hill University Teacher’s Association (NEHUTA) alleged that the resolution of the Executive Council June 14 arbitrarily discontinued HASA.
