HC's decision an embarrassment for Government: Conrad

SHILLONG, Aug 24: The tiol People’s Party (NPP) president has termed the recent High Court decision to dispose the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Civil Society Women Organization (CSWO) with regards to the Dual Post issue as an embarrassment for the state government and Chief Minister Mukul Sangma. The NPP leader while applauding the KHADC CEM P N Syiem for his victory after the Meghalaya High Court delivered its verdict on the PIL has however cautioned the state government to first do their research before coming out with any rules or regulations. Addressing newsmen here on Wednesday, NPP president Conrad Sangma, said, “This has left the state government totally red faced including the Chief Minister.”
