Health awareness campaign conducted

Dibrugarh, Jan 8: Aiming to raise awareness on Mission Parivar Vikash, Indradhanush (total immunization), TB, leprosy and other health issues, the Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dibrugarh and Jorhat office organized an out-reach awareness campaign titled ‘Integrated health awareness campaign’ at Jagun-Parvatipur village under Margherita Development Block, Tinsukia on Sunday.
The campaign was organized in co-ordition with Surjudaya (NGO) and with the initiative of Anil Baruah, a social activist of the area. The campaign began with awareness rally participated by local people, students and self-help group members. An awareness meeting, which began with an iugural patriotic song by Jatiya Vidyalaya students, was presided over by Gangadevi Chetri, member of Jagun Zila Parishad along with Prab Jyoti Saikia, BJP Block Mandal president of Jagun.
The Field Publicity Officer Prab Kumar th in his address educated the audience on health schemes of the NDA government and three year success of the present government. He highlighted the aims and objective of the programme. th also urged the village people to take government medical facilities properly and stressed use of traditiol medicine with a view to avoid medicil side-effects. He suggested the audience to be always in touch with basic health workers of villages like ASHA, ANM and AWW in order to get medical help and proper counselling. Resource persons in their address educated the audience on precautiory measure for diseases like TB, leprosy and elaborated on child immunization, mother health, sanitation and other important health issues. The event also included open quiz competition, cultural presentation by students, cleanliness drive, street drama, prize distribution and recitation.
