Heavy rains hit train services

SILCHAR, May 7: Heavy rainfall in the hills has badly affected the train services. A number of trains that were scheduled to run to and from Silchar and Guwahati have been cancelled. Places around Lumding – Badarpur hill section has been affected which ahs lad to the cancellation of the train services. Guwahati – Silchar fast passenger that was scheduled to leave from Guwahati on May 6 and May 7 has been cancelled between Guwahati and Silchar. In the addition, Silchar - Guwahati fast passenger scheduled to leave from Silchar on May 7 and May 8 has also been cancelled between Silchar and Guwahati.  Kanchanjuanga Express which was scheduled to leave from Sealdah on May 7 has been termited shortly at Guwahati and has been cancelled between Guwahati and Silchar. New Delhi – Guwahati –Silchar Poorvattar Sampark Kranti Express which had started from the New Delhi on May 5 has been termited for the time-being at Guwahati and will remain partially cancelled between Guwahati and Silchar.
