Heavy storm hits Biswanath

Biswanath Chariali, April 25: A severe hail storm accompanied by heavy downpour lashed Biswanath district on Wednesday evening.  Heavy damage was caused in areas like Biswanath Chariali town, Madhupur, Nabapur, Biswanath Ghat, Chatiya, Rotowa and Borjarani. Big trees were uprooted and houses and properties of residents were also damaged. Traffic in the NH-15 was stopped while power supply was disrupted. A youth was seriously injured at Dalanghat Shatntipur and Tupia when a tree fell upon him. However, details are awaited.
