Hemanta Bora Arrested For Trying To Abduct Minor Girl

Joysagar: Hemanta Bora (28) of Sivasagar Thanamukh area was arrested by the Sivasagar Police from BG Road of the town on Friday. Sources informed that the youth allegedly tried to abduct a minor girl, who is a student of Sivasagar Town High School when she was on her way home. But the girl shouted for help and local people rescued her and called the police. Police also seized the motorcycle (AS-04-U-7621) used by the accused from the spot. In another incident, the Bihubar Police of Sivasagar district arrested a suspected drug peddler on Friday from the Bihubar weekly bazaar. Following secret information, the police team nabbed the drug peddler who was identified as Biju Dev of the same area. Besides, police also recovered many narcotic and drug tablets from the possession of the accused which were worth many lakhs.
