Hideout of elephant poachers busted

MARGHERITA, August 9: On Monday, Margherita Forest Team officials busted a hideout camp of elephant poachers at Dirakmukh which falls under Margherita West Range Forest office. Acting on a tip-off, Margherita West Range Forest officer Padum Borpatragohain and his team during a search operation busted a hideout camp and found a handmade gun along with food items at the camp. According to Margherita forest department sources, there were 10 to 12 elephant poachers who were present at the camp but unfortutely they fled from the spot.
