High voltage India-Pak match on Feb 8

GUWAHATI, Jan 28:  The much hyped India-Pakistan hockey match in the forthcoming South Asian Games will be held on February 8  at the Md Tayabulla Hockey Stadium. Although four countries-India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will take part in the mens hockey of the 12th edition of the Games but hockey fans in the city are eagerly waiting on this particular match where two arch rivals will face each other. The game will kick off under flood light at 8 PM.

As per the schedule of South Asian Games, available in the Hockey India website, Four teams will take part in the men’s category and three in the women section which are host India, Nepal and sri Lanka. Both the tourments will be held on league basis and top two teams of the group will clash in the fil.  

The hockey championship will kick off with women match between India and Nepal on February 7. This game will be followed by two more matches in the men’s section-Pakistan vs Sri Lanka and  India Vs Bangladesh on the same day.

Complete Schedule: February 7 India vs Nepal (women, 3PM), Pakistan vs Sri Lanka (men 5-30 PM), India vs Bangladesh (men, 8 PM). February 8: India vs Sri Lanka (women, 3 PM), Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka (men, 5-30 PM), India vs Pakistan (men 8 PM).February 9 Nepal vs Sri Lanka (women, 5PM). February 10: Bangladesh vs Pakistan (men, 5-30 PM), India vs Sri Lanka (men, 8PM). February 11: Fil (women). February 12: Bronze medal match (men, 5-30PM), Fil (men, 8PM).
