Hill Queen set to run from October, assures NF Railway DRM

Haflong, Aug 9: In persuasion of the memorandum submitted earlier by the N C Hills Indigenous Forum (NCHISF) in regards to the Railway development in Dima Hasao, a delegation of N C Hills Indigenous Students’ Forum led by its president David Keivom met Divisiol Railway Mager, N F Railway  Lumding on Wednesday.

DRM Promod Jain informed that due to monsoon, running of the Hill Queen had been delayed but assured that it would run from October. They also demanded for the beautification of New Haflong Station and surrounding Diyung Bridge for tourists spots. DRM Jain gave them assurance that he would immediately prepare the necessary estimate.

Regarding foot over bridge at Dittokchra and Mahur stations, estimates have been prepared and within a short period work will be started. Approach roads of Mahur station will also be started as all the tendering process has been completed.

Regarding New Harangajao  and Dittokchera station approach roads, estimates have been already prepared and soon tendering process will be done.  The president of NCHISF, David Keivom, while talking to this correspondent, expressed his satisfaction over the gesture of the DRM.
