Hima Mylliem: Acting Syiem appoints new members to MED

SHILLONG, April 25: New members to the Members of Executive Dorbar (MED) have been selected by the recently appointed Acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem Ricky Nelson Syiem on Monday in a general meeting (Dorbar Pyllun) convened at their office in Mawkhar.

It may be reminded that on 22 April 2016 the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) issued an order to suspend the incumbent Syiem (Chief) Latho Manik Syiem and assign Ricky Nelson Syiem as Acting Syiem of Hima Mylliem.

“We have chosen new members to the Members of Executive Dorbar (MED) and we will soon forward the mes of the new members to the KHADC to get their approval,” Ricky Nelson Syiem told newsmen here on Monday.

Asked if there is any plan to beautify Iewduh market, he said the market is one of the biggest and oldest in the state and to beautify it the Hima needs to avail a massive scheme to undertake such a project. “We need to get a big scheme in order to revamp the market and if we take up this task just from the funds of the Hima it will be herculean mission,” he said.
