Himachal CM, wife get bail in disproportiote assets case

New Delhi, May 29: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, his wife Pratibha Singh and seven other accused were granted bail by a court here on Monday in a case of holding disproportiote assets. Special Judge Virender Kumar Goyal asked Virbhadra Singh and the other accused to furnish persol bonds of Rs 1 lakh each and surety of like amount.  The court also asked them not to leave the country without its permission. In his bail plea, the 82-year-old Congress leader cited several medical reports to claim he was suffering from serious ailments. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opposed the bail plea on the ground that Virbhadra Singh may influence witnesses in the case. (IANS)
