Himsekhar Kashyap brings laurels to Pathsala

PATHSALA, Aug 20: On the occasion of  the 70th Independence Day, a grand celebration was organized at Khapara in Guwahati where a boy brought pride to the Bajali subdivision area. Himsekhar Kashyap received the prestigious ‘Bir Chilarai Award’ from Chief Minister Sarbanda Sanowal for his excellent performance as an NCC cadet. Kashyap, a resident of Pathsala town, is the son of Dr Dinesh Sarma, Professor of North Kamrup College, and Ranu Devi. He is a student of Class X of Goalpara Sainik School. The award includes a certificate, a medal and a sum of Rs 25,000.  Himsekhar had participated in the last year’s Republic Day celebration in New Delhi where he was the Commander of the North East’s junior division as he was the best cadet from NE among the juniors. He was also adjudged the fourth best in the tiol level and received praise from both the Prime Minister and the President.
