Hindi is soul of Indianness: Prab

New Delhi, Sept 14: Describing Hindi language as the “soul of Indianness”, President Prab Mukherjee on Wednesday said it plays an important role as a “link language”. Presenting ‘Rajbhasha’ awards on the occasion of Hindi Diwas at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he said: “We have to encourage translations of Hindi literature into other Indian regiol languages and vice-versa. This will deepen relations between Hindi and regiol languages.” The President also urged people to learn historical, cultural and literary aspects of different cultures. He said: “When people of India will come to understand that our past and present is one, our literature and culture is one, (then) tiol unity will be strengthened.” (IANS)
