Hit-And-Run Case Accused In Capital Police Net, Itanagar

ITANAGAR: A hit-and-run case in which a boy named Dado Yayo was killed by a vehicle on May 20 was solved by the capital police under the supervision of capital SP T Ammo and SDPO Dekia Gumja. The SP informed that during the investigation, CCTV footage of 25 locations were checked where it was revealed that a white Bolero bearing registration number AR05-2649 had hit the scooty from behind resulting in the death of the Dado Dayo. The CCTV footage also showed clearly that the driver of the Bolero drove away dragging the scooty up to Abo Tani Colony from O Point Tinali, Itanagar. The SP said that the Bolero owner has been identified and as per the statement of the owner, his vehicle was taken out of his garage without his knowledge by his relative and his friend. Both of them were returning from a party that night in Itanagar when the accident took place.

The vehicle owner has also filed a lost vehicle FIR in the nearest police station of Seppa.

The SP further informed that the alleged accused later escaped to Seppa and on the pressure of the vehicle owner they surrendered before the Seppa police.

“As per disclosure by the vehicle owner, the accused had hidden the vehicle near the Delhi Public School (DPS) and we have recovered it,” SP added.
