Hitesh th receives Sanjib Baruah Memorial Jourlist Award

SIVASAGAR, June 6:  Jourlist Hitesh th of Sipajhar has been conferred the Sanjib Baruah Memorial Jourlist Award for the year 2015.

The award was presented to th at a function held in connection with the World Environment Day celebration at the auditorium of Sibsagar Girls’ College, Sivasagar under the aegis of Jourlist Association of Assam, Sivasagar District Committee. The award carries a cash amount, japi, phulam gamosa, memento and a citation.

Associate Professor of Sibsagar College, Dr Utpal Dutta, attending the function as chief guest, expressed shock at the ways common man was consuming the tural resources. Suggesting all to make positive contribution to the environment, Dutta said, “If the human beings maintain the present rate of speed of consumption of tural resources, then it will require three worlds to fulfil the demands of the people in 2020.”

Dipak Dutta, a youth of Sivasagar who has been playing a key role in conservation of environment by making artificial bird-nests and another youth Pankaj Agarwalla who has been devoting himself to the mission of planting trees in Sivasagar town, were also felicitated in the function for their contribution to protection of ture.

The function was also attended by MI Bora, vice-president of the association and Dr Hemanta Phukan, Principal of Sibsagar Girls’ College.
