HNLC bandh reduced to 24 hours

SHILLONG, May 25: The Hynniewtrep tiol Liberation Council (HNLC) on Monday decided to reduce the shutdown hours of the bandh from 48 to 24 hours in views of the requests from the student’s community who are getting their results. The 24 hour band called by the HNLC will start from 6 pm May 26 till 6 pm of May 27 in the whole Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills region. The banned outfit has also announced a week long night road blockade starting from May 27 till June 2, the night road blockade will start from 8 pm to 6 am except on Sunday. HNLC publicity secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said in a statement issued here, “We have reduced the hours of the bandh in view of the request from the student’s community, daily wage earners and farmers.”
