Holi celebrated in Imphal

IMPHAL March 6: Manipur organised various sports event on the second day of holi. Local clubs had started organising the sports event to wean away the people from the extravaganza of holi festivities. The youths and children are concentrated more on such sports. Meanwhile police launched a special drive to check motor riders and car drivers. This was done to ensure that no any underaged children and people without proper documents would resort to joy ride which bring a threat to other people. Every year boys get killed and injured in such accidents. There is a two day government holiday. With this, the state will be completely shutdown for two days. But then the silver lining is that Sa Leibak, a vercular newspaper has been bringing out newspapers for 365 days in a year. But then circulation plummts since the paper boys and main distribution agencies are also on holiday. In the me of religion many things were imposed on the fun loving people of the state. However these are eroding and this is causing concern among the devout Vaishvas.
