Home advantage not work in fil: Kamala

GUWAHATI, July 24: Kamala Kanta Singh, the coach of Karbi Anglong Morning Star, spoke to The Sentinel before the fil of ASPL soccer tourment which will be held at Diphu tomorrow. Here is the excerpt.

It's dream run for your team into the fil

Yes, you can say like that. We are the only team in the tourment who have not lost a single match. So I admit that the performance of Morning Star in this competition is quite satisfactory for me.

How you made it possible?

There are two reasons-one is good support from the team magement and second one is the unity among the players. Magement has done an exceptiol job by picking good quality players and they also provided fantastic facilities to the team so that players can concentrate only in the game. My players too have risen to the occasion to do justice to the responsibilities entrusted on them. So I can say that it is a good team work that helped us to reach into the fil without facing too many difficulties.

 Morning Star will play the fil in their home ground. Is it not an advantage to your team?

May be, may not be. It's true that we have already played several matches in Diphu and are accustom with the condition. But fil is a completely different game and here past experience doesn't count too much. Unless you hold your nerve and play good soccer it is impossible to win. So I feel there is not so much advantage for us even though we will play the fil in our home ground.

But crowed support will with you!

It is really very good thing for us. In every home match good number of crowds turned up to support us and I am appealing to all of them to come in the fil and cheer for us.

Your foreign recruit Orok Orok Essien is already in the lime light for his superb goal scoring ability. Is he your tramp card in the fil?

I want good performance from entire team in the fil. But yes as Orok is in good touch so obviously we need something special from him in the title clash also.

What is the specialty of Orok?

Orok is a very goal hungry player. He has already scored 22 goals in this competition from 14 matches and he is still hungry. What I like in him is that he is not a selfish player. He scores himself and also distributes good ball to his teammate to score if Orok feels that he is not in a position to score.

What kind of contest you are expecting in the fil?

I think it will be a good game. FC Green Valley is a good young side. They have quality strikers and mid field too working well. If we want to win we have to put a lot of pressure on their defense which is relatively weaker than the other position.
