Honorary doctorate conferred on Ustad Amjad Ali, AS Kiran Kumar

JORHAT, November 28: Padma Vibhushan, renowned sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was conferred horary doctortae degree in a  progrmme held at Kaziranga University (KU) here.

The welcome address was delivered the KU Vice-Chancellor Sunil Rai while Murulidhar Khetan, Chancellor of the university, delivered the iugural address in the opening ceremony.

AS Kiran Kumar, Padmashree awardee and chairman ISRO, delivered the keynote address. Ustad Amjad Ali Khan gave an inspiratiol address.

Around 120 graduate students, 26 MBA students, 21 students of MSC, 29 students of BBA, four students of MSC (IT) and two students of M Tech of the univesity received certificates and medals.

The  honorary doctorate degree was presented to Ustad Amjad Ali Khan for his phenomel contribution towards Indian culture and music. He was born in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Kaziranga University also conferred honorary doctorate on AS Kiran Kumar. He is a distinguished space scientist and credited with the development of key scientific instruments abroad the Chandyan-1 and Mangalayan space craft.
