Hornbill birds attract bird lovers

DEMOW, January 24: At Borbhui Chetia village near Demow, 20 Hornbill birds were seen. Bird lovers gathered in the village to see the birds.

Villagers said that since the past two decades, a group of Hornbill birds have been coming to the village and their number has now gone up to 20. The villagers have been planting ba saplings for the birds.

Suryya Kumar Chetia, an educationist, has been generating awareness among the villagers as to how to protect the Hornbill birds, through his NGO Assam Bandhu.
