Hotel waiter arrested in Lakhimpur for rape attempt

Lakhimpur, November 2:  A waiter of Hotel ndikishore at North Lakhimpur was arrested for allegedly assaulting a female customer of the hotel.

The woman had come from Guwahati to North Lakhimpur on October 30 for official work and had put up at Hotel ndikishore. But at night she was suddenly disturbed by the hotel waiter Bubu Chetry (26) who allegedly tried to rape her. She maged to run away and save herself, and then she reported the North Lakhimpur police about the incident. The next day Chetry was arrested.

Regarding the incident, the owner of the hotel said that the woman who accused Chetry was a regular customer of his hotel and there was an alleged relationship between Chetry and her. He said that the staff of the hotel had revealed about the relationship after the incident.

Bubu Chetry, on the other hand, has claimed that he did not try to rape her but he scolded her because she was blackmailing him. However, the whole incident will be clear only after thorough police investigation.
