Pat, Feb 28: The house of Rajballabh Yadav, a Rashtriya Janta Dal legislator absconding after he was booked for allegedly raping a minor, was attached on Sunday, police said. The police move to attach Yadav’s house at his tive village English Pathra in wada district came a day after a landa district court’s order in this regard.
“Police teams from wada and neighbouring landa carried out the attachment of his property,” a district police official said.
Yadav has been absconding since February 9 though four of his alleged accomplices have been arrested.
A large number of police personnel, including from the Central Reserve Police Force and Rapid Action Force, were deployed in the village and near the RJD leader’s house due to apprehension of trouble by his supporters during the attachment process.
Earlier, the district court had rejected Yadav’s anticipatory bail plea. Police have been raiding different places to arrest Rajballabh Yadav, who absconded after the issuance of arrest warrants against him following registration of a case against him on the complaint of the girl hailing from landa district. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday, during a reply on law and order in the state assembly, said: “How long can he abscond? How long? He cannot escape. He will be brought to justice.” (IANS)
