Housing & livestock mission meets at Mylliem held

SHILLONG, Dec 21: State Urban Affairs Minister RV Lyngdoh on Thursday launched the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme (CMHAP) under Mylliem C&RD block at Pomlum Secondary School, Baniun. Lyngdoh launched the programme in the presence of legislator AL Hek, Secretary of Housing department M.N. mpui, Director of Housing D. D. Sangma, BDO, Mylliem C&RD Block, PT Passah and beneficiaries, among others. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the aim and objective of the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme (CMHAP) initiated by the State government is to provide durable roofing material to improve existing houses of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and provide dwelling houses to the Low Income Group (LIG) families living in the State. He added that the scheme is being implemented both in rural and urban areas of the State. During the programme, Lyngdoh and other dignitaries distributed aluminum sheets to beneficiaries of Mylliem, Mawpat and Mawlai C&RD Blocks. Lyngdoh also distributed seed money to farmers under the Meghalaya Livestock Mission under the Animal Husbandry and Veteriry department.
