How To Deal With A Stressful Day At Work, Try These 4 Tips!

Whether it's because of a tiff with a colleague, sky-high expectations from your boss or a mounting workload that you cannot seem to make a dent in, every one of us experiences work stress at some point, regardless of the reason why. Pressure is experienced differently outside the office and so is the method of handling it. At work, it's a completely different ball game. No matter how difficult it gets, it's necessary to keep your cool and tackle it calmly. The next time you face a stressful day at work, these 4 ways will help keep it under control quickly.

1. Step Outside

When your stress levels are hitting the roof and your workspace seems stifling, step outside for a bit, preferably in the open air and natural light. Head to your building rooftop or garden downstairs. Simply changing your place will put you in a different headspace with the natural atmosphere only boosting it further.

2. Stretch Well

Exercise is a great way to open the floodgates of happy hormones. We aren't expecting you sweat it out (at least fully) in the middle of your workday but the least you can do is do a few basic stretches in an open space. It will focus your energy on your muscles and relax you easily.

3. Call First

When you can't handle it, call someone who will be able to help you do so. A confidant like your mom, sibling, partner or best friend will be able to engage with you about your stress and reduce it greatly.

4. Just Breathe

And if you can't manage to step away from your space but still want to put a lid on work stress, practice a deep breathing exercise. Turn off your laptop, turn on a guided breathing app and follow the instructions to calm yourself down and clear your mind so that you can take on your problem.
