Howedes, Schweinsteiger join Germany group training for Euro semi-fil tie

Paris, July 6: German defender Benedikt Howedes and captain Bastian Schweinsteiger joined their tiol team group training session on Wednesday and may appear in the semi-fil against European championship hosts France on Thursday.

The recovery of Schweinsteiger, who suffered a knee injury after the quarter-fil victory over Italy, was crucial for coach Joachim Loew to replace injured Sami Khedira, reports Efe.

Howedes also worked out with the group and could start on Thursday against France to replace suspended Mats Hummels.

In case Schweinsteiger can not appear against France, Loew will have to choose between Emre Can or Julian Weigl. (IANS)
