Howraghat town gears up for Basanta Utsav

HOWRAGHAT, April 20: Brisk preparations are on for Basanta Utsov at Howraghat town which will be held on April 25.

Sarbajanin Basanta Utsov, which is patronized by Kharsing Engti, HAD Minister and Premala Beypi, EM, KAAC, will be held at Howraghat Pan Engti playground. It will include different colourful programmes.

The Utsov will begin with flag hoisting by Kaja Terang, president of Sarbajanin Basanta Utsov celebration reception committee at 8 am. The smriti tarpan will be done by Biren Bora, working president of Sarbajanin Basanta Utsov celebration reception committee. This will be followed by various traditiol games and traditiol cultural programme of various indigenous tribal communities, which will be iugurated by Deuri Lekhthe, chairman of Howraghat Town Committee. Premala Beypi, local MAC and EM for Social Welfare Department, KAAC, will present as chief guest in the function. Besides, Shanta Rongpi, president of Karbi Jutang Chingthur Amei, Howraghat, Ashok Hasnu, president of Dimasa Sanskriti Samaj, Howraghat, Dipen Basumatary, president of Dularai Boro Harimu Afad, Karbi Anglong district unit, Medini Mohan Saikia, general secretary of All Karbi Anglong Asomiya Bhashik Sanstha, Priyaranjan Mujumdar, president of Karbi Anglong Zila Jatiya Mansa, Amrit Sahu, president of Tea Cell, Karbi Anglong district unit and Kartik Dekaraja, president of Tiwa Sanskritik Samaj, Diphu regiol committee, will attend the function as special guests.

‘Bohagar Anikha’ will start from 7 pm onwards and it will be iugurated by Tuliram Ronghang, CEM, KAAC. Kharsing Engti, HAD Minister, and Bidyasing Rongpi, EM, KAAC will attend as chief guest and special guest respectively. Besides, all EMs and MACs of KAAC will attend the function as guests of honour.
