HSDC opposes KAAC decision to allot land to Patanjali

From a Correspondent

HAMREN, Feb 9: The Hill State Demand Council (HSDC) has vehemently opposed the decision of the BJP-ruled Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to allot 500 bighas of land to Patanjali Group in the me of producing medicil and herbal products and making a false promise of providing about 5,000 jobs to the local unemployed youths.

“The Patanjali Group further promised to set up world-class educatiol centre and hospital, which is nothing but a big lie of the BJP-ruled KAAC and the Patanjali Group. The action of the BJP-ruled Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council is nothing but a deliberate and conscious effort to sell Karbi Anglong land to the multitiol company. Selling off around 500 bighas of land  to a company just for rrow monetary gain at a time when there are many people in Karbi Anglong, particularly the Karbis, who do not own an inch of land for either agricultural purpose or to build a house, is a wrong move. The team of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council that is supposed to make a joy trip to Haridwar should also be cancelled and instead the team should visit the border area of Dimapur where large tracts of land are illegally occupied by encroachers. Moreover, the BJP-run Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council does not have the authority to take major decisions, including land allotment, as it is a caretaker government. The term of the council has already ended,” said Danial Teron, HSDC general secretary.
