HSDC prepares poll strategy to strengthen party

HOWRAGHAT, Jan 20: With an aim to strengthen the party, a booth-level meeting was organized by Hill State Demand Council (HSDC) on Wednesday at Rongsopi, Matipung near Diphu. In the booth-level meeting poll strategy was prepared for ensuing assembly election.

Later, a public meeting was also held where senior leaders, active workers, supporters and hundreds of people of Matipung area participated. In the meeting former MP and leader of HSDC, Dr. Jsyanta Rongpi spoke about various problems faced by the people of Matipung area. Dr Rongpi, while speaking on the statehood demand, explained why instead of autonomous state it was better to have separate state. If full statehood is granted then all powers can be attained for all-round development, Rongpi added.

Criticizing the present Diphu MLA, Bidyasing Engleng, the HSDC leader alleged that during his 15 years’ rule, Engleng could do nothing for the development of Diphu constituency. Time had come for people to find an efficient candidate.

Meanwhile, Dr Rongpi urged people to support them in the upcoming assembly election. The meeting was chaired by Hemson Rongpi, convener, HSCD, Dhansiri MAC Constituency Coordition Council and attended by MAC, KAAC Semson Tisso; Dr. Mongve Rongpi, convener, Students and Youth Council, youth wing of HSDC with Robin Teron, KSA leader and former MLA Hemsing Tisso.
