HSLC and High Madrassa examination to be conducted from tomorrow

Guwahati: The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) and High Madrassa examination will be conducted from tomorrow, February 14.

This year 3,52,143 candidates will appear in the examination out of which 3, 47,702 candidates will appear in HSLC while 9,441 candidates will appear in High Madrassa examination.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Chairman of SEBA, Ramesh Chandra Jain said that the examination will be held in 857 centres across the state. "For safety and security during the examination, two CCTV cameras will be installed in the examination hall and LED bulb will also be fitted so that the examination halls gets brighter," said Jain.

He further informed that there will be special facility for students with disability and visually impaired students. For the first time, the board will set question papers in braille for the visually impaired students and 13 such candidates will appear in the examination this year. The board has also made all necessary arrangement for smooth conduct of the examination and also to prevent malpractices.

The Chairman also informed that 144 CrPC will be imposed ahead of 50 metres of the examination venue to prevent untoward incident during the examination. In order to prevent any malpractices during the examination, the board has arranged strict security measures.

This year, the board will also deploy Flying Squads in the sensitive centres.

The board has also introduced new elements for the examination and the students will have to use black pen in the exam. There will be no review of Mathematics and Advanced Mathematics and the answer script will have a barcode.

There has been many allegations against the board that it cannot conduct the examination smoothly and to avoid such nuisance the board has also made some norms like students cannot take the question paper along with them if they leave the examination hall within two hours. The candidates also come with allegations that most of them do not receive graph paper and to avoid such crises this time the graph paper will be stitched along with the answer scripts.
