HSLC paper leak: AASU burns Himanta’s effigy

Golaghat (Dhekial), Feb 20: The activists of All Assam Student’ Union (AASU), Golaghat district committee, burnt  the effigy of State Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma near the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday, protesting against leakage of HSLC question papers.

Talking to media persons, the president and secretary of the organization, Angshuman Baruah and Biswajit Gogoi respectively said that it was very shameful that HSLC examition question papers of two subjects had been leaked due to alleged ignorance and negligence of SEBA officials. Further, they said that on several occasions Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma proudly said that he had brought changes in the education system, but in reality, no change could be seen in the education department.  They warned SEBA to avoid playing with the lives and career of students in future.

In the protest, vice-president Niranjan Sonowal, treasurer Ramen Sonowal, publicity secretary Santanu Dutta and adviser Madhurjya Goswami were present.
