HSPDP accepts Basaiawmoit's resigtion

SHILLONG, March 10: The Hill State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) has accepted the resigtion of party president Ardent M Basaiawmoit. The party is soon expected to hold a meeting to discuss on the matter. According to sources, the HSPDP wants the position of the president, which has been left vacant due to the resigtion of Basaiawmoit,  be taken up by a party leader form West Khasi Hills District. As of now, there are two prominent leaders within the party who can take over as leader of HSPDP.  They are former MLA form Rambrai constituency KP Pangniang and former MLA of Pariong constituency Tuberlin Lyngdoh. Before the party elects a new president, the HSPDP will call upon all its party workers to come together and elect a new president.
