HSPDP condemns Lyngdoh's statement

A REPORTER

SHILLONG, Sept 14: Condemning the recent statement made by UDP working president Paul Lyngdoh the HSPDP has today refuted the allegations saying that they have never back down from their earlier stance.

“We never want that the people to be misled by these allegations made by one person since it’s all baseless,” Pyniaid Sing Syiem HSPDP MDC from Sohryngkham constituency said.

According to him, the HSPDP have always demanded the implementation of article 371 since whenever there is clash of laws between the District Council and the state government the state law will always prevail.

He said that the party (HSPDP) clearly stated and demanded that if the government should introduce the Draft bill they must take into account the provision and spirit of the VAB 2014.

Meanwhile, coming down heavily against UDP working president P Lyngdoh, Syiem said that Paul Lyngdoh had this habit of alleging others right from the time he was the President of the Khasi student Union (KSU). He allege that Lyngdoh is the one who have always blamed political leaders of the state calling them as dealers and not leaders and also that that the leaders are not legislator but distributors.

“This same person who was the leader to demand for the ILP had proposed for the modified ILP in the assembly,” Syiem said adding that Lyngdoh is also the same person who said on 15 Feb, 1999 that the time has come that the District Council should be abolished.
