HSPDP slams Shylla for interference

From A Correspondent

SHILLONG, June 9: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) today expressed its surprise for what it called interference in the affairs of the party by Nongkrem, MDC, Hispreaching Son Shylla.

According to the HSPDP the allegation made by Shylla against the party and its president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit was only a figment of his imagition.

The party said that the decision to have a pre-poll alliance was endorsed by the Central Executive Committees (CEC) of the HDPSP.

On the allegation that the pre-poll alliance between the HSPDP and the UDP was arrived at because Basaiawmoit was scared of Shylla, the party revealed that in February this year the Nongkrem MDC sent an emissary to the HSPDP president saying that he was willing to join the party.

“He (Shylla) wanted a political truce and if Basaiawmoit was willing to do so, Shylla was ready to join us,” the HSPDP said.

“If our president (Basaiawmoit) was scared of Shylla, he would have immediately accepted the deal and offer an olive branch,” the HSPDP said.

The HSPDP said that the offer was rejected by Basaiawmoit because he does not subscribe to the politics of Shylla.
