Humanitarian service of OWA lauded

Itanagar, June 14: Arunachal Pradesh women & child development special secretary Kinny Singh has lauded Oju Welfare Association (OWA) and its chairperson Ratan Anya for rendering yeoman’s services to women and children, besides rehabilitating the victims of social exploitation. After inspecting Women Help Line-181, One Stop Centre and Swadhar Greh of OWA on Wednesday, she praised Anya for her dedicated service and wished her to continue the exemplary work with same zeal.

She offered her support and guidance for continuing the philanthropic activities for Arunachal Pradesh people, according to an OWA release.

Dr. Singh, accompanied by woman & child development department officers led by director T.P. Loyi, interacted with women victims of domestic violence, POCSO cases and rescued child labour victims who are taking shelter in OWA. They also visited legal aid clinic, specialized adoption agency, children home, Oju Craft Centre & Emporium.

OWA is one of the pioneer and philanthropic organizations of the State that was set up in 1979 Bini Maya Yangya to take up multi-dimensional welfare activities for the cause of people-in-need, besides empowerment of women and nurturing orphan and destitute children to win national accolades.
