Hundreds join Karbi Youth Festival

DIPHU, February 19: The 42nd Karbi Youth Festival held under the aegis of Karbi Cultural Society, entered its fourth day on Thursday at Taralangso near Diphu in Karbi Anglong. Taralangso, the centre of Karbi culture, reverberated today with traditiol songs and folk and people from different parts of the district converged there in their traditiol attire to add beauty to the festival. Competitions on Nimso Kirung and Hachakekan were held. Traditiol sports events were also held. The Karbi Youth Festival  started in 1974 and since 1994 the festival has been celebrated at Karbi People’s Hall at Taralangso.
