HYC rubbishes allegation against CEC secretary
FROM OUR REPORTER
SHILLONG, Jan 17: The Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) North Khasi Hills district (NKHD) has expressed shock over the allegations made against their Central Executive Committee (CEC) organising secretary by three suspended members of the HYC.
The three suspended HYC members—Amberlight Marsharing, Dapkupar Nongrum and Rephingshon Lyngdoh—had alleged that the HYC CEC organizing secretary Nickson Dohling took the decision to suspend the three members during the joint meeting of HYC, CEC and NKHD on January 13 at Umsning in an authoritative way. The HYC NKHD has however rubbished the allegations stating that during the joint meeting of HYC CEC and HYC NKHD on January 13 at Umsning, almost all of its members were present so the question regarding the organising secretary taking a sole decision to suspend them is baseless.
Marbud Biam , vice president of HYC NKHD said the allegations against Nickson Dohling by the three suspended members are only a ploy to cover up their mistakes.
“Since the first day of its inception, the HYC has taught discipline, transparency and accountability to its members and the CEC from time to time had summoned them to show what they have been doing wrong. But these three have violated rules several times set by the HYC,” he said adding that the CEC therefore had no other choice but to suspend them.
He said Dohling has not acted flouting any rule or guidelines of the HYC and the decision to suspend the three members was also taken by the vice president, members of the CEC and two-third members present at the joint meeting supported the decision.
