HYC takes decision to realize its demand

SHILLONG, April 17: The second General Executive Committee (GEC) meeting of the Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC), central body, held at the Khasi tiol Dorbar Hall, Mawkhar on Monday took a decision to demand from the 60 MLAs, three MPs and 90 MDCs in the state to realize their 14 point demands taken at the meeting.

The GEC meeting was chaired by Peter J Lawai, president of the council in the presence of Robertjone Kharjahrin, general secretary, Donboklang Kharlyngdoh Vice-President along with CEC members.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, president of the Council Peter J Lawai informed that the 14 point demands undertaken by the Council includes the Inner Line Permit, Residential Permit for Immigrants, Work Permit, Trading and Business Permit for Non-Indigenous People, Prohibition and Detection of Bemi Transaction, State Permanent Citizenship Registration Act, Democratic Right, Interstate and Intertiol Border, Land Laws, Special Economic Rights, Linguistic Rights & Eight Schedule, Strong and Effective anti corruption laws, Amendment to the Six Schedule, State Custom and Usage Tribul.
