Hyderabad bounce back after Arup's fiery spell

GUWAHATI, Nov 17: Hyderabad made good recovery after a poor start against Assam in the Ranji trophy tie at the ACA stadium here today. 
Invited to bat Hyderabad were once reduced to 32-4 before captain Ambati Rayudu and wicketkeeper B Sandeep repaired the damage and took their team to a comfort zone with 157 runs fifth wicket partnership. Host finished the first day scoring 289-8 in their first innings.
Assam made five changes in the team that played against Uttar Pradesh in the last game. Senior pacer Arup Das returned into the team along with spinner Rahul Singh and wicketkeeper Wasiquar Rahman. On the other hand Riyan Parag and Rajat khan made debut in the first class cricket here today.
A terrific spell in the first hour of the game from Arup put Hyderabad in the backfoot. Arup picked up three wickets within his first seven over and Hyderabad were quickly reduced to 32-4. Later young spinner Rahul Singh also bowled well and picked up three wickets which included the wicket of Rayudu.
Hyderabad’s fight back was lead by captain Rayudu and he got good support from Sandeep. The fielding of the home team was also one of the reasons of Hyderabad’s recovery as couple of easy catches was dropped today. 
The duo joined on the wicket when the score was 32-4 and they added 157 runs in the fifth wickets partnership. Sandeep scored 84 runs with the help of 12 boundaries while Rayudu got out on 83. There were nine boundaries and one over boundaries in his innings. Akash Bhandari remained not out on 43 when the match came to an end today.
