Hynniewtrep monoliths unveiled in Shillong

SHILLONG, June 16: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Shashi Kant Sharma unveiled the Hynniewtrep monoliths of Meghalaya also know as “Mawbyn m” (Menhir and Dolmen) to commemorate the century old heritage of Lyndhurst Estate located at Laitumkhrah in Shillong, on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Shashi Kant Sharma said that the government is very much interested in the maintence and preservation of heritage buildings, structures and cities.
The Comptroller and Auditor General also urged the officers and staff of the office of Accountant General of Meghalaya to come forward for the preservation of heritage structures.
