I appeal to the people of Assam to maintain peace and tranquility, whoever it is no one will be spared: CM Sonowal

Guwahati/Tinsukia: Condemning the brutal killings of the five linguistic minority people in the Dhola Kherbari area under Tinsukia district on Thursday evening, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today have appealed the organizations, parties, media, social media and people of Assam to restrained themselves from making provocative and inflammatory statements (hate messages) in the region.

He further warned that if such things keep on continuing then the Government would have no other alternative but to take action against them to maintain peace and tranquillity in the state of Assam.

“I appeal to the people of Assam to maintain peace and tranquillity in the state, whoever it is no one will be spared. I have directed my police department to take stern action against the culprits who are involved in the killings. At the same time whoever will try to make this particular environment polluted by passing inflammatory statement and hate messages will be booked,” said Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

On being asked how much safe is the people of Assam, CM Sonowal replied, “Everyone in the state is safe. This particular Government in the principle ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ taking everybody along Barak valley, Brahmaputra valley, Hills and Plains, we are all together. No one can destroy our year’s old friendship, brotherhood, understandings and mutual growth.”

On the other, State Minister Keshab Mahanta on behalf of the State Government had declared compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family members of the deceased who were brutally killed yesterday. One from each of the family members will be given jobs in Government sectors, informed the minister further.
