I resigned from EM post, was not relieved: Sarat Brahma

HOWRAGHAT, March 31: Sarat Brahma, MAC of Langhin MAC constituency, expressed serious concern over the statement made by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang that he had been relieved from EM post. Brahma dismissed the statement of Ronghang. He said that the statement was a political statement of Ronghang. The Executive Member (EM) of KAAC, Sarat Brahma said that he submitted his resigtion letter to Tuliram Ronghang, in presence of leaders of Bodo frontal organizations on Wednesday to pave the way for joining the BJP ahead of the assembly elections. He further said that he resigned from the post of EM on the appeal of Bodo frontal organizations and the greater interest of Bodo people. “I have not been relieved by the KAAC Executive Committee,” Brahma clarified.

Majority of Bodo leaders in Karbi Anglong extended their support to BJP at a public rally held at Langhing recently. Since then the political scerio in Karbi Anglong has started to change suddenly.
